The region of Oceania includes Polynesia,
Melanesia, Micronesia, New Guinea, and
New Zealand, and when it is used as the
name of a continent it also includes
Australia.
Sometimes this continent is only called
"Australia", and a few people call it
Australasia (the latter term can be
confusing because some people use it to
mean all of Asia and the Pacific Ocean Islands)
The City of Oceania
The Atlantis Project was a highly publicized project to create a floating city called
Oceania was begun in February of 1993 but
the project ended in April of 1994 due to lack of funding
and interest.
